**JOB DESCRIPTION**

JOB TITLE: OUTREACH WORKER

REPORTS TO: PROGRAM MANAGER

LOCATION: ABBOTSFORD

**JOB SUMMARY**

CEDAR Outreach Society provides low-barrier outreach and support service to the members of our community who are experiencing homelessness. We are a client-centered service, working to help each person reach their personal goals and connect them to resources to improve wellbeing.

**OUR OFFER**

This is a part-time position, 4 hours per day. The schedule for this position is 7 days a week, 3:00pm - 7:00pm. The starting wage for this position is $29 per hour.

**RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES**

CLIENT CARE
- Receive referrals, conduct program intakes, and meet with clients to provide service.
- Develop and manage individual case plans with clients, in collaboration with other staff.
- Connect clients with appropriate services and assist with service navigation.

OUTREACH
- Spend time in the community, providing supplies/clothing/food and building working relationships.
- Provide transportation, with the use of a society vehicle, to medical appointments, shelters, and other supportive services for CEDAR clients.
- Support warming and cooling centres, and other community-based initiatives and events in Abbotsford.

ADMINISTRATIVE
- Attend regular staff meetings.
- Maintain client case files; electronic & paper.
- Ensure that daily logs and other record keeping documents are up to date and accurate.

**QUALIFICATIONS**
- Consent to a criminal background check. A criminal record will not necessarily prevent employment with CEDAR.
- Knowledge of and support for harm reduction strategies.
- Knowledge of supportive services and experience navigating the referral process.
- A valid class 5 drivers license and sufficient driver’s abstract.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with people from a variety of backgrounds and abilities.
- Ability to use Microsoft O365 and case management software.
- Experience and/or education in the field of homelessness and/or addictions is an asset.
