**Job Description** About the role**:
We are looking to hire an experienced life & health (re)insurance actuary to support the Capital & Risk function in North America. Within this role, you will be knowledgeable about enterprise risk management with strong analytical skills and the ability to build upon the existing framework and expand risk modeling tools, risk analysis and risk mitigation processes to assist in the enhancement of ERM for PartnerRe’s North American legal entities across various regulatory jurisdictions.
This role reports to the Chief Risk Officer, North America Life & Health, with a dotted reporting line to the Chief Risk Officer, North America Non-Life. Whilst primarily focused on the North American Life operations, the role will also provide synergistic risk management support to the Non-Life CRO in general, and in particular as regards the non-life Canadian Branch of PartnerRe U.S. in terms of Canadian regulatory requirements.
**Your responsibilities will include**:
- Assist in the development and implementation of Life ORSA capital projection and stress testing models, leveraging AXIS, under IFRS17/LICAT, US Statutory/RBC, and US GAAP/Bermuda Solvency Capital Requirements (BSCR)/Solvency II.
- Support the ERM Framework process (Risk Policies, Risk Assessment, Risk Appetite Framework, ORSA) of key North American subsidiaries.
- Assist in quarterly Capital & Risk Board reporting for key North American subsidiaries.
- Assist in the capital monitoring and management process to ensure capital ratios remain above Internal Targets.
- Assist in the gap analysis of new OSFI guidelines and development of implementation plans to close gaps to for compliance, for both the Canadian Life subsidiary and the Non-Life Canadian Branch, as appropriate.
- Provide support for the ORSA/KMR process to the CRO of the Non-Life Canadian Branch, as appropriate.
- Coordinate and liaise with Capital & Risk colleagues, the actuarial valuation teams, and internal auditors.
- Other projects and duties as assigned.
**Qualifications** About you**:
You will be an experienced, qualified Actuary with 10 or more years experience in Life (re)insurance or related actuarial experience.
As a technically excellent individual you will have the opportunity to work with personnel across all areas and levels of the organization. A desire to experience new and challenging areas and having exceptional collaboration skills are key requirements. Solid AXIS modelling skills is a requirement.
You will be effective at managing multiple deadlines and capable of leading complex developments and/or projects independently. You should be capable of working in an international and culturally diverse environment.
**Experience/Skills**:
- A qualified Actuary (FSA/FCIA designation or equivalent) with at least 10 years of Life or Health (re)insurance experience, risk management certification (CERA/FRM/PRM) a plus, other relevant designations, e.g., CFA, a plus.
- Broad based knowledge of Life risks; knowledge of Health and P&C risks a plus.
- Experience in using Moody’s AXIS actuarial system.
- Experience with Risk Management or Asset-Liability Management principles and methods.
- Knowledge of Solvency regulations in Canada; exposure to US and Bermuda regulation a plus.
- Strong work ethic and commitment to meeting deadlines.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
