Qc Technician

**Position Description**

**Key Duties**:

- Conduct QC sampling and testing on aggregates, asphalt, and soils.
- Perform tests such as sieve analysis, Marshall and Superpave hot mix testing, mix designs, agency correlation, aggregate analysis, and compaction testing.
- Maintain detailed records of daily work site activities, including materials inspected, tested, and sampled.
- Offer technical support to materials production and construction field staff, managers, and supervisors.
- Assist in exploration and product development at our material sources and production facilities.
- Collaborate with managers and supervisors to ensure materials meet or exceed quality standards.
- Maintain testing equipment and tools in good working condition.
- Complete work safely and with attention to detail to ensure high-quality results.
- Communicate effectively with field staff and report on quality and production activities.
- Liaise with onsite inspectors, owners’ representatives, and the public.
- Handle reporting for quantities, payments, and documentation requirements.

**Position Requirements**
- Enrollment in a post-secondary program in Civil Engineering or Environmental Studies is required.
- Conduct yourself in a mature and professional manner.
- Strong organizational and analytical skills with clear communication abilities.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
- High level of personal integrity, strong work ethic, and ability to work cooperatively with others.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Self-directed and able to work with mínimal supervision.
- A valid Ontario driver’s license (G or G2) is required.

**Work Conditions**:

- Travel to various sites and locations may be required.
- Work in both indoor and outdoor environments in various weather conditions.
- Weekend and evening work may be necessary to meet job demands.
