Program Coordinator

As a Program Coordinator you will play a pivotal role in handling our mentoring programs. Adhering to National Standards set by Big Brothers Big Sisters of Canada, you will oversee casework, ensuring our mission and values are at the heart of what we do.
This role requires a minimum of a two-year post-secondary diploma in social/human services, psychology, child and youth work, or a related field, or a combination of education and work experience that satisfies this requirement.
Duties include:
- Uphold National Standards and adhere to child welfare legislation.
- Entering and maintaining client documentation ensuring client recording is detailed, accurate and up to date, and match monitoring parameters are met as per BBBS compliance standards.
- Optimize mentor-mentee matches in both community and in-school programs.
- Maintain ongoing correspondence with matches to ensure monitoring requirements are met.
- Engage in volunteer recruitment, agency profiling, and community liaising.
- Attend meetings and forums for recruitment and awareness-raising.
- Requires regular and ongoing social interactions with community partners and liaisons.
Who You Are:
- Criminal record check with a vulnerable sector check completed.
- Experience and strong ability to engage with children, youth, and adults.
- Comfortable presenting program details to both individuals and groups in a clear and Intriguing manner.
- Ability to work well with diverse populations, both independently and as a team member.
- Proficient in computer skills (Word, Excel).
- Minimum class 5 drivers license and access to a vehicle is required as there will be occasional travel between Qualicum Beach to Ladysmith.
- Experience with non-profit organizations is an asset
