Optometric Assistant

Looking for an enthusiastic, motivated, patient care coordinator for a busy full-scope optometric practice.

Duties and responsibilities include:

- Scheduling appointments for patients and performing general clerical duties
- Processing insurance claims and invoices
- Perform diagnostic testing and dry eye treatments as required
- Assist patients with frame selection, styling, fitting, lens selection and measurements
- Assist patients in contact lens training, trials, ordering

We want someone who is outgoing and friendly, but who is also comfortable dealing with challenges that arise from patient care and can be assertive when needed. Looking for someone who is reliable, detail oriented, who can remain calm under pressure, striving to always ensure patient satisfaction.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $17.00-$21.00 per hour

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
- Day shift
- Weekend availability

COVID-19 considerations:
Vaccination policy in effect. Masks required in accordance to Ministry of Health and College of Optometrists guidelines.

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Thornhill, ON L4J 6W7: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

**Experience**:

- optical/optometric: 1 year (preferred)
