**Equipment Room Technician**

**Position Summary**:
The Equipment Rental Technician is responsible for the servicing, cleaning, and maintenance of LaSalle Colleges Rental equipment. The Equipment Rental Technician stands as the filter that ensures only the most production-ready equipment is available to our Clients. To guarantee this, the incumbent should understand that they work with a team to maintain and service the equipment to ensure full functionality of gear/kits and assume responsibility for the equipment’s performance.

**Key Job Responsibilities**:

- The intake, examining, labelling, servicing, and storing of returned equipment
- Checking and completing of equipment and kits as needed, ensuring that only kits that are ready to be used are available in inventory
- Reporting of any damage found soon as it is discovered
- Respond to priority needs to facilitate on-time availability of gear to LaSalle Colleges Clients
- Assist customers with in-house gear related questions/demos
- Maintain an up-to-date inventory of equipment
- Upholding of operational standards
- Communicate with vendors as needed and as directed
- Occasional driving, deliveries, and pick-up of equipment
- Inspect, test, identify and document issues from all returned equipment including loss or damage
- Identify and recommend potential improvements to workflow and operations
- Reviewing equipment late list
- Train new staff and student workers regarding departmental circulation usage and policies
- Ensure equipment is issued only to those properly authorized
- Other responsibilities as determined by management.

- Tech Services Supervisor
- Student Equipment Room Attendants
- School staff, faculty and student populations as well as outside vendors.

**Job Requirements**:
**Knowledge**:

- 1-3 years’ experience in a film/photo production equipment rental environment
- Knowledge of inventory control and familiarity with film, video, photography, lighting and AV equipment

**Skills**:

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a wide variety of populations.
- Superior organization, prioritization, self-motivation, and problem resolution skills.

**Abilities and Attributes**:

- Ability to quickly grasp computer-based inventory management system utilizing barcodes and scanners
- Effective interpersonal communication skills necessary for customer service, technical support and vendor contact
- A commitment to diversity, and the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships within a diverse community
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and complete assigned tasks on time
- Ability to handle a variety of complex problems and devise solutions
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, Mac OS X)
- In depth knowledge and experience of all media equipment is necessary
- Working knowledge of, but not limited to, the following professional production equipment:
1. Camera Systems: Sony, Panasonic, Black Magic, Canon EOS DSLR, 35mm still cameras, medium format film and digital, large format film cameras Audio Equipment: Recorders, Microphones, Cables, Adaptors, and Accessories

2. Grip equipment, camera dollies, lighting control, power distribution

3. Lighting equipment: Incandescent, fluorescent, HMI, and LED lights in various sizes and power levels

4. Audio Visual: Microphones, Loudspeakers, Data/Video Projectors, Computer/Video Monitors, various cables and adaptors

**Salary**: $38,000.00-$45,000.00 per year
