We are a South Edmonton-based Early Learning Childcare Centre (near Southgate) specializing in Montessori learning. Our program provides stimulating learning experiences in a safe environment, enhancing children’s social, intellectual, physical, and emotional development. We are seeking an individual who is trained or knowledgeable in Montessori learning styles, compassionate, and passionate about working with children.

**Position Overview**

This position requires a person who possesses love, patience, and respect for children. The director must encourage children to be independent and model appropriate manners and behaviours. You will work with children to promote their social, physical, and intellectual growth through the following responsibilities:
**FSCD Support and Working with Children with Disabilities**

As part of our team, you will also provide support to children with disabilities in partnership with the FSCD (Family Support for Children with Disabilities) program. Your responsibilities in this area include:

- **Provide One-on-One Support**: Assist a child with disabilities in their daily activities, ensuring they are fully included in the classroom experience.
- **Implement Support Plans**: Follow individualized plans developed in coordination with the FSCD program, teachers, and family members to meet the child’s unique developmental needs.
- **Encourage Participation**: Support the child’s participation in both individual and group activities, helping them engage and socialize with peers.
- **Foster Skill Development**: Help the child build social, cognitive, communication, and motor skills through tailored learning experiences.
- **Collaborate with Specialists**: Work closely with any external professionals or specialists involved in the child’s care and learning plan.
- **Adapt Environment**: Modify the physical and learning environment to make it accessible and supportive for the child.
- **Communicate with Parents and Team**: Maintain open communication with the child’s family and the broader childcare team regarding progress, challenges, and ongoing support strategies.

**Qualifications**
- Recognized Montessori accreditation and certification or equivalent with a passion for working with children.
- Must hold a Level 2 or 3 certification, First Aid + CPR, and pass a criminal and vulnerable sector check.
- Experience or willingness to work with children with disabilities is an asset, especially in collaboration with FSCD.
- Highly energetic, effective, organized, enthusiastic, and excellent at time management.
- Ability to foster a respectful and empathetic environment that helps children develop strong relationships and problem-solving skills.
- Artistic talents, including experience with arts and crafts, are an asset.
