We are currently seeking talented and dedicated Principal** Researchers-Systems and Networking **in the field of AI-centric System and infrastructure located in **Vancouver, British Columbia.**

As a valued team member,
- You will have a proven background in computer systems, networking, or related fields, and will be responsible for devising innovative solutions to complex problems in various systems such as mobile, cloud, big data, AI, and more.
- You will conduct cutting-edge research, develop new methodologies, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive innovation and efficiency in world-class systems.

Over the past 30 years, our scientists have not only conducted world-class computer science research but also integrated advanced technologies into our products and services, positively impacting millions of lives, and propelling Microsoft to the forefront of digital transformation.

**Responsibilities**:

- Conduct research on state-of-the-art AI-centric system methods and technologies to identify opportunities for system innovation and acceleration.
- Develop and implement new methodologies, techniques, and algorithms to enhance the performance, efficiency, and scalability of AI-centric systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including hardware and software engineers, data scientists, and product managers, to drive the development and deployment of innovative AI-centric system solutions.
- Stay current with the latest trends, research, and developments in AI, machine learning, and system architecture to ensure our systems remain at the forefront of innovation.
- Evaluate the performance of AI-centric systems and provide recommendations for improvement and optimization.
- Publish research findings in peer-reviewed journals, conferences, and other relevant venues, and present research results to internal and external stakeholders.
- Mentor and guide researchers and engineers in their research and development efforts.
- Collaborate with industry partners and academic institutions to drive joint research projects and initiatives.

**Qualifications**:
**Required/Minimum Qualifications**:

- Doctorate in relevant field AND 3+ years related research experience
- OR equivalent experience.

**Additional or Preferred Qualifications**:

- Doctorate in relevant field AND 5+ years related research experience
- OR equivalent experience.
- Experience publishing academic papers as a lead author or essential contributor.
- Experience participating in a top conference in relevant research domain.
- Background in system and architecture, including experience with computer hardware, software, and networking technologies.
- Deep knowledge about the latest technical advancements such as AI and related system
- A track record of published research in the field of AI or other system innovation is a plus.
