**Merchandiser & Display Person**

Blue Grass, Calgary’s largest Nursery and Garden Centre is seeking a talented and creative Visual Merchandiser to join our team.

**Job description**:
As a Visual Merchandiser, you will be responsible for creating visually appealing displays and layouts to attract customers and drive sales. Your role will involve utilizing your design skills and knowledge of consumer behaviour to create compelling visual presentations. **This position is an on-demand role meaning that shifts will vary from 2-5 days per week depending on seasonal needs.**

**Duties include**:

- Liaise with the purchasing manager to develop layout plans and implement visual merchandising strategies to enhance the overall look and feel of our retail space.
- Creatively arrange products in an aesthetically pleasing manner, considering colour schemes, themes, and trends.
- Monitor stock movement and consider markdowns, promotions, price changes, clear-outs, etc. with the retail manager.
- Build constructive customer relationships through product knowledge and sales techniques.
- Pricing & stocking shelves, with new or transferred merchandise.
- Keeping the Garden Centre clean and presentable.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to align visual merchandising efforts with promotional campaigns.
- Maintain visual standards by regularly refreshing displays and ensuring proper signage placement.

**Qualifications**:

- Excellent English verbal and written communication skills with the ability to convey ideas and concepts.
- Strong listening, presentation, and decision-making skills.
- Highly creative with knowledge of consumer behaviour and the ability to create visually appealing displays that drive sales by identifying target audiences and creating a store flow to optimize sales.
- Good physical condition with the ability to stand for periods, and climb ladders as needed. Must be capable of lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Strong computer and POS terminal knowledge is a must.
- Proven experience as a Visual Merchandiser in a similar role.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- At least 3 years of experience in a customer service role.
- At least 5 years of relative experience in merchandising and stock management.

**We are located north of the City of Calgary near Cross Iron Mills Mall**

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time

**Salary**: From $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 - 40 per week
