**This position is for a 4-month internship, and is contingent upon successful Canada Summer Jobs funding.**

Summary_**
The _Electronics Technician Intern_ is responsible for hands-on fabrication, assembly, testing, and repair of prototype and production electronic and mechanical systems that help bring G2V’s quality products to life.
**_
Primary Responsibilities_**
- Fabricate and assemble optical and electronic products according to company specification, including soldering, assembling, testing, debugging, validation, and rework of surface mount (SMD/SMT) PCBs
- Mechanical assembly and modification of optical and electrical prototypes and products
- Design and build customized jigs and test automation setups
- Aid product development team with fabrication for prototypes when required
- Properly document design and fabrication parameters according to G2V’s quality management standards
- Be a leader for continuous improvement and process development within your relevant area
**_ Target Skills & Qualifications_**
- 6+ months experience in hands-on electronics fabrication, printed circuit board design & assembly including rework stations, oscilloscopes, microscopes
- 6+ months experience mechanical and electrical fabrication and assembly, including hand tools, mill, lathe, and 3D printing
- Programming experience in Python considered a strong asset
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with user interfaces, circuit design, and LED lighting products is considered an asset
- Interest and awareness around sustainability
**_ Mandatory Employment Requirements:_**
- Must be currently enrolled and in good standing in an electronics related program at a recognized post secondary institution.
