Spaar Painting Field Supervisor

**The Position**
SPAAR Colours Field Supervisor oversees the day-to-day tasks of the department in the field. The Field Supervisor is actively involved with the hiring, training and termination of all Subcontractors and is included in the decision-making process. The Field Supervisor ensures that Subcontractors have the appropriate materials on site and all necessary information (specification and colors) to complete the job. This includes meeting Service and Subcontractors and troubleshooting any site related issues.
The Field Supervisor works closely with all our clients and Subcontractors to ensure all work is done on schedule and to a high degree of customer satisfaction. The Field Supervisor is critical to the proper assessment of overall work quality and the implementation of strategies for completion and as such requires a thorough knowledge of all Painting processes and Drywall related building practices in Residential Home Construction.
The Field Supervisor works closely with the SPAAR Division Manager, in-house Construction Managers, Production Supervisors and all company personnel in assessing issues found at any point during the construction process and implementing plans for completion.
The Field Supervisor supports the implementation of the company safety program with all members of the team and helps ensure all safety protocols are being followed on all sites and in all company vehicles.
Knowledge of Commercial Building practices is an asset
**Key Accountabilities**
- Strong commitment to customer service with an ability to foster a customer service culture in a team environment
- Thorough knowledge of Residential Building practices and Painting Processes, Painting Materials Lacquers / Latex. This includes ability to assess issues, strategize and implement successful repair strategies
- Strong ability to communicate and uphold company standards for: cleanliness, safety, customer service, and through job completion. This includes implementing effective training initiatives.
- Strong verbal communication skills on the phone and in person.
- Must be able to negotiate agreements with a wide variety of different people and situations.
- Ability to work well with others in a leadership role in a team environment
- Strong sense of urgency and ability to multitask
- Ability to handle stressful situations and lead everyone involved to a successful conclusion
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow through on commitments
- Works well with administration in communicating agreements, issues and scopes of work that are discussed in the field. Ensures all necessary information is captured in ONEtrac and communicated to all relevant personnel for both job implementation and billing purposes
- Good computer, IPAD and smart phone skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office and adept at learning and adapting to new software
- Strong ability to distinguish between essential facts and extraneous details
**Responsibilities**:
- Oversee all day-to-day service field functions including:
- Checking work orders in ONEtrac and tech lists to ensure workloads are manageable and jobs are being completed in a timely manner
- Stays in regular contact with Service and Subcontractors when needed
- Answer questions, keep on track, handle training opportunities as they arise
- Meet Subcontractors, Building Supervisors, or Clients on job sites to assess issues and troubleshoot solutions
- Supervise all jobs related to Colours
- Enforces company standards for safety, cleanliness, and job completion for the Service Tech Team
- Material management. Pick up and movement of paint supplies
- Manage Subcontractors overall workmanship on site through performing regular QC's and working to increase site efficiencies.
- Safety programs follow up: Ensures safety protocols are being followed on company job sites and vehicles
- Responsible for completing regular safety Toolbox talks with the Tech Team and, submits all relevant safety program paperwork to the Safety Manager
**Qualifications**:
- Minimum of Class 5 Alberta Driving License with a clean Driver’s Abstract
- 3 - 5 years experience (required)
- Extensive experience and thorough knowledge of: Lacquers, Spray Stains, Wiping Stains, LATEX PAINT, SPEED ENAMEL, Exterior Paints, Gel Stains, touch ups, and working in occupied homes
- Strong commitment to excellence and ability to complete tasks
- Strong customer service background with significant experience working with all types of customers in stressful situations
- Ability to listen. It is crucial to be able to accurately discern what is needed and being asked for
- Excellent follow through
- Experience with dispatching and organizing workloads for a team of people
- A basic understanding of the drywall scope of work.
Pay: $50,000.00-$65,000.00 per year
