Trqss Summer Student Assembly Line Operator

We are currently seeking applicants to work in our Tecumseh facility as a Summer Student in either the Assembly department, Molding department or the Production Control department.
**Role Description: (Assembly, Injection Molding, Production Control)**
- Rotates amongst the various operations within the cell, to perform all assembly functions required to assemble the seat belt (or component of) while ensuring the daily principles of safety, quality, delivery and productivity are followed at all times to produce high quality parts for our customers.
- Ensures all necessary safety equipment is used and worn at all times
- Follows defined standardized work instructions and process conformance procedures to ensure quality parts are produced
- Brings to the attention of the Team Leader, Assistant Team Leader or Trainer any quality, safety, or productivity issues
- Maintains 5S within designated work area
- Performs all assembly tasks within defined time to meet production goals
- Participates in improvement (Kaizen) activities to ensure TRQSS improves continuously to meet increasing customer demands
- Train other Associates in the cell as necessary
- Follows policies and procedures as documented in the TRQSS Associate Guide and maintains a positive working relationship with team members
- Visual inspection of parts to ensure they meet established standards
- Constant periods of prolonged standing
- Constant repetitive movements using the same muscle groups
**Requirements**:
- Minimum Requirement of a High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Able to lift up to 40lbs
- Previous assembly experience in a Manufacturing Environment an asset
- CSA Approved Safety Shoes (Fully Closed)
- Safety Glasses/Prescription Safety Glasses (No tints allowed) (Permanent Side Shields Mandatory)
- Own or reliable transportation on a daily basis
- Full-time availability throughout summer months with potential part-time opportunities through school year.
- Must be enrolled in accredited post-secondary institution
- This position requires a 2-shift rotation (Days and Afternoons) within a 2-week frequency
