Here's how a(n) Piping Coordinator for our Edmonton Industrial Management district working out of our Edmonton, AB office, contributes to our team:
**Responsibilities**:
- Interprets project drawings, specifications and change documents to define piping pressure test packages.
- Performs quantity and material takeoffs.
- Creates electronic mark-ups on all related construction documents.
- Assists designers/engineers when reviewing drawings and suggests value-added or alternative construction methods or materials.
- Identifies and assists in resolving field technical issues.
- Reviews and understands testing obligations as per contract and construction code requirements.
- Creates and assembles physical copies of packages per the project schedule.
- Assists in overall construction coordination and planning.
- Develops and maintains strong stakeholder relationships.
**Qualifications**:
- Postsecondary education or training in engineering, construction management, or a related discipline.
- 3-5 years of construction experience in an operational role preferred.
- Working knowledge of construction equipment and techniques, piping system design/construction, drawings and specifications, project health, safety and environment (HSE), quality, & building/testing materials.
- Intermediate knowledge of means and methods and construction sequences.
- Basic knowledge of construction law and building codes.
- Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Understanding of decision-making authority and ability to present solutions.
- Demonstrated flexibility and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Planning, organizational, and time management skills with the ability to multitask, prioritize own work, and delegate simple tasks.
- Ability to develop and maintain effective stakeholder relationships.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Bluebeam Revu and computer systems with a strong aptitude to adopt new technology.
