**Mechanical and Electrical Supervisor**

Under the general direction of the Manager of Facilities, the Mechanical and Electrical Supervisor will plan, coordinate, and supervise mechanical and electrical maintenance activities to achieve the highest level of quality, safety, and effectiveness to minimize maintenance energy costs. The Mechanical and Electrical Supervisor is responsible for the operation of HVAC systems, heating control systems (pneumatic, electronic, and digital), plumbing systems and electrical systems. This role requires an in-depth understanding of rules and regulations related to mechanical and electrical systems and assumes primary responsibility for meeting all legislated and other requirements.

- A degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering with a thorough understanding of both mechanical and electrical systems preferred
- Red Seal qualification in a mechanical or electrical trade accompanied by demonstrable experience in managing mechanical and electrical systems in a multi facility environment, other Red Seal trade qualifications may be considered
- Minimum of seven (7) years’ recent and related experience demonstrating knowledge in:

- budget preparation and management for a minimum of $2M in annual funding
- energy efficient technology related to innovative HVAC systems including geothermal
- current best practices in the building and site maintenance practices, municipal and fire codes, hazard management techniques and preventative maintenance fundamentals
- Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in the supervision of staff; preferably in a unionized setting
- Experience working in the in the public sector; preferably in the K-12 education sector

The salary range for this full-time position is $86,541 to $108,176 per annum.

Initial placement within the range is based on related education and experience.
