Strategic Contracts Specialist

If you have experience implementing contract management within a project based company, this position is perfect for you This newly created role will support our Operations leaders. As a Strategic Contracts Specialist, you are responsible for the development, drafting, negotiation and execution of strategic contracts. You will collaborate with sales, procurement, legal, general contractors, subcontractors, the project management office, finance and others. You work to collaborate with internal stakeholders on each contract, work to negotiate with external contractors and sub-contractors, then a final presentation to Executives.

**Key Duties & Accountabilities**:

- Proactively identify and understand the needs of internal stakeholders.
- Collaboratively propose competitive and profitable solutions that foster win-win outcomes.
- Build trusted relationships with project managers - add value by improving each portfolio’s financial performance.
- Develop strong relationships with the sales teams ensuring competitive terms for RFP’s, RFQ’s, RFI’s and other agreements.
- Build out frame agreements with key suppliers and vendor partners.
- Prepare documentation ahead of legal review and clarify points as required.
- Collaborate with cross functional teams to create and deploy standard operating procedures, while focusing on continuous improvement.
- Partner with Finance regarding costing options and recommend most advantageous. (Unit rate/Time & Materials/Lump Sum etc.)
- Understand project management timelines and plan for upcoming contract activities.
- Development of Frame agreements, contractor and sub-contractor agreements ensuring process for approvals, deployments and ongoing maintenance.
- Subject matter expert on active contracts, responses to tenders, request for proposals and all other necessary documents.
- Follow up on discrepancies in agreed upon terms with internal and external stakeholders.

**Requirements**:

- 5 years of experience in contract management or related field
- Relevant Post-Secondary Education (Contract Management Certification, Legal Diploma)
- Experience in complex, short and long-term construction project contracts
- Strong and diverse negotiation tactics
- Strong verbal, written and presentation skills
