We are a growing organization and currently looking for a passionate and motivated **Transport Safety & Compliance Coordinator** to join our winning team. **Employment Type**: Full Time **Shift**: Day Shift **Office/Facility**: "Great Plains" Facility - Calgary, AB *** The Transport Safety & Compliance Coordinator supports regulatory compliance required by the National Safety Code and FMCSA regulations. This ensures that the VersaCold fleet is operating in the safest and most effective manner and is compliant with all transportation legislation and company policies and procedures. The Transport Safety & Compliance Coordinator will monitor the company’s National Safety Code and FMSCA safety ratings. Will oversee compliance, driver training, provincial regulations, licensing and HOS issues, report on key metrics and implement the Transportation Safety Plan. **KEY RESPONSIBILITIES** **Safety & Compliance** - Leads and promotes a culture where Health & Safety is the #1 priority. - Holds overall responsibility for effective daily operations and full compliance with transportation legislation and VersaCold Transportation Safety Plan. - Operates within, and ensures full compliance, with the Code of Business Conduct, Transportation Safety Plan, company policies and procedures and all statutes and legislation governing the workplace. - Supports the development and implementation of preventative programs to ensure compliance. - Implements improved operational processes that enhance capabilities to meet/exceed service standards. - Ensures organizational adherence and accountability to standard operating procedures. - Evaluates and trains drivers and O/O on safe operation of equipment - Develops and maintains driver scorecard(s) - Participates in the new driver hiring process **Operational Excellence** - Holds responsibility and ownership for the company’s National Safety Code safety ratings, addressing issues related to the fleet, reporting fleet data and statistics, approving and processing improvements to the fleet compliance. - Deliver Training to VTS company drivers and owner operators - Work closely with VTS stakeholders to meet their needs. - Responsible for Hours-of-Service monitoring using ELD. HOS Training, driver support and ELD onboarding will ensure compliance with Hours-of-Service legislation for VersaCold Transportation Services. - Follows up with terminals to investigate and conduct root cause investigations on any issues reported with respect to the National Safety Code. Documents investigation and root cause analysis information. Follow up accordingly to address the issue and implement preventative and corrective measures. - Leads vehicle accident reporting - Oversees the execution of standard operating procedures and regulations within our Transportation Safety Plan and company policies. Ensures that our fleet is compliant and Hours of Service along with Safety Procedures are always followed. - Manages the fleet Drug and Alcohol program for US and Canada - Develops and maintains strong relationships with VTS staff and Owner Operators. - Leads the tracking and reporting of current and future metrics and KPIs, including the development and implementation of a monthly Balanced Scorecard. - Ensure the Quarterly OH&S System Review Process is executed in a timely manner. - Continuously grows and develops operational knowledge and leadership capabilities by participating in professional development opportunities. Keeps informed of leading-edge advances and new and emerging trends in the logistics and transportation safety industry by reviewing the latest industry literature (books, trade journals, online articles) and participating in industry associations and events **KEY REQUIREMENTS** - 3 - 5 years’ experience in a transportation environment. - Experience working with company drivers, owner operators and third-party carriers. - Operation and Hours of service experience - Post-secondary education in Transportation, Operations, Logistics, or related field preferred - Analytical; logical thinker with ability to think two steps ahead and successfully analyze different pieces of information and put them together like a puzzle. - Proven ability to effectively prioritize workflow to ensure deadlines are met. Able to adapt to shifting priorities. - Proven analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to quickly understand and identify issues and implement innovative solutions. - R
