The Knowledge Translation (KT) Program at the Li Ka Shing Knowledge Institute of St. Michael's Hospital, Unity Health is currently looking for a Research Coordinators II to join the dynamic and growing team. The primary role of the **Research Coordinator II **is to support ongoing research and implementation projects. Currently we are seeking individuals to take on a full time (1.0 FTE) one-year contract to support the Team of Implementation, Evaluation and Sustainability (TIES) within the Knowledge Translation Program. We are seeking individuals with experience in applied research, knowledge facilitation/mobilization, and a strong interest in evidence implementation. These individuals should have worked for at least a year in the field of knowledge translation using KT methods (including theories models and frameworks). Examples of the kind of work include developing and implementing strategies to disseminate and increase the uptake of guidelines, building strong supportive relationships amongst diverse stakeholders, supporting long-term care homes to implement infection prevention and control practices, and evaluating implementation projects using qualitative and quantitative research skills. The position requires working with a large number of stakeholder groups across primary care, long-term care, research institutions, and other clinical departmental settings; therefore excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential. These positions will offer the successful applicants a challenging and rewarding environment. Skills in plain language writing is a major asset. This position may require the research coordinators to travel to facilities in the Greater Toronto Area and surrounding regions (e.g., Hamilton, Niagara).
**DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES**:
- Assist in the implementation of initiatives to support organizational or system-level responses for the COVID-19 pandemic via ongoing tailored support using established methods
- Work collaboratively with key stakeholders in research, primary care, hospitals, and long-term care facilities to support the tailoring and implementation of evidence based practices in a variety of settings, including iteratively updating support plans
- Oversee and undertake collection and management of study-related data - ensuring quality control
- Coordinate research activities in collaboration with team (including general project management, timelines and deliverables)
- Coordinate participant recruitment, scheduling, and conduct of qualitative interviews
- Liaise with multiple internal and external stakeholders at local and international levels
- Oversees the preparation of REB submissions relative to the initiation and conduct of projects
- Write proposals, interview guides, reports and presentations of research findings
- Assist investigators in the initiation of new research projects
- Assist in the interpretation and implementation of study protocols
- Monitor the progress of project activities; develop and maintain records of project activities and prepare periodic reports as required by investigators, administrators, funding agencies, and/or regulatory bodies
- Supports project growth and development, anticipating issues and creating action plans
- Maintain data documentation, physical and logical storage of records, in accordance with hospital policies and relevant privacy regulations
- Collaborate with team members to write and edit presentations, reports, proposals, and publications
- Supports team members through capacity building and coaching
**QUALIFICATIONS**:
- Minimum Bachelor of Science (preferably with 5 years related research experience), preferably Masters Degree (with 3 years related research experience)
- Minimum 1 year of research coordinator experience in an applied research setting
- Demonstrates competency in knowledge translation [both content (eg. Theories, topics) and technical skills (eg. Mapping to knowledge translation frameworks)]
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
- Meticulous attention to detail and capable of independent decision-making
- Expertise in plain language writing is an asset.
- Ability to quickly learn new content related to standards of care and ideal healthcare practices
- Experience with engaging health decision-makers, clinicians, patients and community members in research
- Ability to work from home to comply with COVID-19 measures (e.g., access to phone, internet, etc.)
- Ability to prioritize and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Ability to work in a diverse team environment
- Ability to adapt to changes in project direction
- Experience in a healthcare related setting is an asset
- Experience in conducting qualitative interviews is an asset
- Experience in quantitative statistics is an asset
- Fluency in French is an asset
