As a hospital kitchen helper / server (Dietary Aide) you will be required to assist with the preparation and service of patient meals and perform general servery duties as assigned, while ensuring that safe work practices and sanitation standards meet or exceed those set by the Client, Health Department and Sodexo.

**LOCATION**: Chilliwack General Hospital Patient Food Services

**RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Prepares, serves, delivers, picks up, and cleans meals as per service style of the facility.
- This is a physically and mentally demanding position.
- Ensure patients receive meal as defined by clinical requirements
- Pot-washing & dish room duty
- Ensures that all food products are stored properly, according to Sodexo standards
- Assistance in production of food under the direction of the cook
- Works with patient diets under the direction of diet technician or equivalent
- Putting away of supplies and restocking of supplies within the kitchen and the facility
- Cleaning of equipment
- Passes on any customer/patient concerns to supervisor immediately
- Is responsible to perform his/her job according to safe work practices by:

- Learning the safe way to perform duties
- Performing each task in safe manner using equipment provided.
- Reporting all injuries and hazardous conditions to management immediately.
- Supporting the Safety Program in the unit.
- Other tasks, duties and assignments as directed by the supervisor, manager or lead cook.

**POSITION REQUIREMENTS**:

- Minimum grade 12 education
- Food Safety certification within the last year.
- 1-2 years related experience in a food service environment, preferably healthcare.
- Demonstrated customer service experience.
- English proficiency, verbal and written.
- Current vaccinations including Hepatitis A, B and proof of no active tuberculosis
- Have the ability to meet the physical requirements of the position
- Current criminal record check will be requested upon approval for hire

**Job Type**: Casual; however, opportunity to gain part-time and full-time lines and work up to full-time hours as casual. Lots of work available Pay Rate: $17.15 - $20.97
