The Project Manager-Nuclear Strategy will be responsible to lead the Municipality’s engagement with Ontario Power Generation on the new nuclear project. This position, funded by the Growth Readiness Fund, will assist in providing timely information and input to Ontario Power Generation, the Impact Assessment Agency of Canada, and the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission throughout the Impact Assessment Process.

**Compensation**:
35 hours per week; $91,550 - $107,100 per annum

**Qualifications**:

- Post secondary education in project management, engineering, public administration, or a related field.
- Certification in project management is considered an asset.
- 3+ years of experience on project coordination or management, preferably with experience in the nuclear or energy sector
- Familiarity with nuclear regulations and standards (e.g., CNSC, IAAC) is an asset
- Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., project management software)
- Demonstrated ability to interact with elected officials, government agencies, residents, and peers with diplomacy and tact
- Excellent communication, organization, and time management skills
- Analytical mindset with problem-solving capabilities
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Ability to engage a wide range of stakeholders to help support project needs

**Responsibilities**:

- Contribute to the development and implementation of a Municipal engagement plan with Ontario Power Generation for each phase of the Impact Assessment for the new nuclear power project.
- Provide input and comments on documents, from a Municipal perspective, related to the Impact Assessment as requested by key stakeholders.
- Attend any meetings related to the Impact Assessment scheduled by the parties.
- Organize and facilitate project meetings, including preparing agendas, minutes and action logs.
- Track project progress; maintain accurate records; and report updates to key stakeholders.
- Prepare and manage project documentation, including schedules, reports and deliverables.
- Identify and propose mitigation measures to project timelines and objectives when required.
- Address project issues and resolve conflicts in a timely manner.
- Serve as a liaison between Municipal staff, Ontario Power Generation staff and IAAC, CNSC and other stakeholders.
- Maintain clear communication channels to ensure alignment across all parties.
- Support the preparation of regulatory submissions and audits.
- Create status reports summarizing the Municipality’s OPG project Impact Assessment activity along with the particulars of spend for the amount funded.
- Advance the knowledge of Council and staff on the OPG Project and Impact Assessment.
- Build capacity and detailed knowledge within the organization to gather information that would be utilized in the Impact Assessment process.
- Complete other duties as assigned by Management related to the project.

**Working Conditions**:

- Primarily working in an office environment
- Using the computer and telephone to communicate with stakeholders
- Addressing quickly changing priorities
- Ability to support initiatives outside of typical business hours when required

**Physical Demands**:

- Time spent on computer using mouse and keyboard
- Considerable time spent sitting at a workstation
- Requirement to complete site visits or attend offsite meetings as necessary

**Mental Demands**:

- Ability to deal with stressful situations due to tight, unyielding deadlines, shifting priorities and demands of stakeholders
- Ability to handle and prioritize changing workloads
- Ability to work/connect with different people and different work styles
