Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Dental Assistant to join our team. As a Senior Dental Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality dental care to our patients. Your expertise and knowledge in various dental procedures and technologies will contribute to the success of our dental practice.
Dental Assistanting Certification is a MUST. Preference for Level II certification.
**Duties**:
- Assist the dentist during dental procedures, including general dentistry, orthodontics, and pediatric dentistry
- Prepare treatment rooms and ensure all necessary instruments and supplies are ready for use
- Take dental x-rays as directed by the dentist
- Perform dental charting and maintain accurate patient records
- Provide chairside assistance to the dentist during procedures, anticipating their needs and ensuring patient comfort
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-operative care instructions
- Sterilize and disinfect instruments and equipment following infection control protocols
- Manage inventory of dental supplies and order new supplies as needed
- Assist with front desk duties, including scheduling appointments, answering phone calls, and verifying insurance information
**Experience**:
- Experience as a Dental Assistant in a dental office setting
- Proficiency in using Dentrix or similar dental practice management software
- Knowledge of medical terminology related to dentistry
- Experience with intra-oral scanning / digital impressions is an asset
**Skills**:
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Exceptional organizational skills to manage patient records and maintain efficient workflows
- Ability to work well in a team environment and collaborate with other dental professionals
- Compassionate and empathetic demeanor when interacting with patients of all ages
