Hotel Houseman

**SCOPE OF POSITION**:

- To maintain the quality of guest room and public space cleanliness according to standards, policies and procedures as established by the NNH management /housekeeping department.
- To ensure that all guest requests are honored.
- To be flexible to work all days that are required, including weekends and holidays.
- To be very hospitable to guests, providing assistance and answering questions to enhance guest's visits at the hotel.
- To communicate room deficiencies to management and maintenance department.

**PHYSICAL/ENVIRONMENTAL**:

- Physically fit to endure lifting, stretching, bending, kneeling and climbing stairs.
- Some exposure to weather while cleaning outside rooms, i.e. heat, snow, rain.
- Exposure to cleaning chemicals, such as general purpose disinfectant, glass cleaner, furniture polish, carpet stain remover etc.

**Shift Work Is A Must**

**Responsibilities**:

- Cleans rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, and locker rooms and other work areas. Moves/arranges furniture and dusts/polishes furniture, metalwork and equipment.
- Sweeps, scrubs, waxes, and polishes floors, using brooms and mops and powered scrubbing and waxing machines. Cleans rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and draperies, using vacuum cleaner.
- Collects soiled linens for laundering and receives and stores linen supplies in linen closet.
- Cleans bathrooms and replenishes with supplies. Refurnishes room with supplies, towels etc. as required. Supplies cleaning cart with appropriate supplies for shift.
- Washes walls, ceiling, and woodwork; washes windows, door panels, and sills.
- Empties wastebaskets, and empties and cleans ashtrays. Transports trash and waste to disposal area.
- Ensure that the housekeeping cart is fully stocked with supplies and cleaning products/materials at the end of shift. Report low stock of amenities, supplies and cleaning product.
- Follow all company environmental policies and procedures.
- Provide guests with efficient and professional service with the ultimate goal of increasing guest satisfaction. Exceed guest expectations in all interactions.
- Follow all hotel’s fire, security, health and safety policies and procedures.
- Other duties as assigned.

**Salary**: From $17.00 per hour
