Full Time Draftsperson

Full Time Draftsperson Required

Behrns Metal Fabricating Inc. is a custom metal fabricating shop that has been serving Southwestern Ontario for over 48 years. We have an immediate opening for a full-time draftsman to perform a wide variety of drafting duties. This includes using our CNC laser programming software. Proficient using CAD software is a must, preferably Autodesk Inventor. Preferably 1-2 years of experience or equivalent education. Microsoft Office/Excel experience necessary. Familiarity with metal fabricating equipment would be an asset but not mandatory.

More detailed description:

- Layout customer parts using Inventor software as per customer’s order
- Nesting of multiple parts for best sheet usage
- Create GEO cut files for Trumpf Lasers using their TRUTOPS software
- Generate Gcode for lasers using TRUTOPS
- Create shop drawings in Inventor to be used for bending and tracking of parts
- Design customer projects based on discussions with customer (many customers don’t have access to CAD)
- Provide design recommendations to customers based on internal capabilities
- Update excel file system to track customer revisions

Our hours of operation are 7:00 am. - 5:00 pm. Monday to Thursday (includes 1/2 hour unpaid lunch), and 7:00 am. - 12:00 pm. Friday. This is 43 hours per week. There is a possibility of overtime from 12 - 5 pm. on Friday, if we have the work. Your starting wage will be $32.00 per hour paid bi-weekly. Overtime is paid at time and a half.

**Benefits**:
Upon completion of probationary period, Behrns Metal employees and their immediate families are reimbursed by the company for medical expenses incurred personally. This is called a Health Care Spending Account. This allows them to submit medical/dental/vision receipts and be reimbursed 80% of $2500.00 per year, by the company. Each employee is also covered for Life, AD&D, LTD and CI insurance.

**Salary**: $30.00-$35.00 per hour
