Winnipeg, Canada On The Move Inc Full time

On The Move Inc is hiring a CCA/ support staff to work in one of our school-age classrooms with children of all abilities. This position is Monday - Friday from 8:00am-5:30pm with a 1.5 hour unpaid lunch break (the shift hours could change). This position will start Sept 9/24 and go until June 27/25 where it will be reassessed and determined if it will continue.

**Responsibilities**:

- Create a safe and nurturing environment for all children in the classroom
- Plan and implement age-appropriate and developmental educational activities and lessons
- Foster social, emotional, and cognitive development through play and structured learning
- Provide individualized attention and support to children with special needs
- Collaborate with parents and guardians to ensure open communication and understanding of each child's needs
- Maintain a clean and organized classroom environment
- Monitor children's behavior and intervene when necessary to ensure a positive and inclusive atmosphere

**Requirements**:

- Previous experience working with children in a childcare or educational setting is an asset
- Knowledge of early childhood education principles and practices is an asset
- Ability to engage and educate children of different ages and abilities
- Patience, empathy, and strong communication skills
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to pass a background check (criminal record with vulnerable sector check and child abuse check)
- ability to speak with children and families in English.

Note: This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive. The employee may be required to perform other related duties as assigned to meet the ongoing needs of the childcare center. Experience/knowledge working with children with Autism and ADHD is an asset.

**Job Type**: Fixed term contract
Contract length: 10 months

Pay: $16.00-$17.51 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
