Assistant Salad Chef

As a assistant salad chef you will work as a part of a team, under the direction of the head salad chef to create a wide variety of salads from scratch. You are responsible for the cleaning, cutting, roasting, blanching and other preparation methods of the vegetables. You will follow the direction of the head salad chef to create salads and dressings, ensuring appropriate quantities are made and that they are of high quality taste. It is important to work quickly and efficiently and meet the production deadlines on a daily basis.

**SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS**:

- High attention to detail
- Excellent knife skills
- Able to work quickly and efficiently
- Able to multitask and prioritize tasks
- Able to work as a team and follow the direction of the head salad chef
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Physically fit and able to carry 25-30lbs

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**:
1. Prepping, cutting and assembly of daily salads

2. Ensuring excellent taste of all salads

3. Ensuring proper quantities are made each day

4. Following “use first” protocols for produce

5. Check on quantity of salads and the daily menu.

6. The Head Chef will determine the course of daily production and the cook will execute the Head Chef’s plan.

7. Check with the Head Chef for taste of each salad before it goes out.

8. Adhere to time sensitive production deadline on a daily basis without

compromising on the quality of food.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $19.00-$24.00 per hour

Expected hours: 24 - 32 per week
