Heritage Christian Online School (HCOS) is a vibrant K-12 learning community serving families throughout British Columbia. We offer flexible home, class and online education programs designed to meet each student’s individual needs and learning style.

Our Education Assistants (EAs) are independent contractors who bring creativity and compassion to supporting home learners within the Inclusive Education Department.

We are currently seeking a part-time Education Assistant in **Burquitlam and Port Moody** to support students in their family homes during the 2025/2026 school year.

Applicants with formal training or certification in Education Assistance (or equivalent experience working with diverse learners) are encouraged to apply.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Provide academic support for a student working at a grade 3-5 level in Burquitlam
- Provide academic support for a student in grade 11 in Port Moody
- Coach executive functioning and self-regulation skills
- Promote communication skills, both verbal and through the use of an iPad AAC program
- Foster the student’s social, spiritual, and academic growth through mentorship and encouragement
- Partner with parents and the Case Manager to create engaging, personalized learning experiences
- Help implement IEP goals in collaboration with the student’s broader support team

- Experience adapting instruction for students at different ability levels
- A teachable spirit and commitment to continued growth
- Creativity, initiative, and a proactive approach to problem-solving
- Strong emotional intelligence and interpersonal communication skills
- Understanding of ASD, ADHD, PDA, and other neurodiverse profiles
- Proficiency in Zoom, Google Workspace, and related technology
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license

**Job Type**: Part-time

Pay: $23.97-$28.13 per hour

Expected hours: 6 - 12 per week
