**Position Summary**:
**Essential Functions**:

- Read and analyze engineering drawings, blueprints, charts and tables to determine the goal of the machining operation as well as to identify more efficient methods of operation
- Select appropriate tools, machines, and materials to be used for the new dies and to modify existing dies, jigs and fixtures
- Produce parts according to specifications outlined in drawings and /or blueprints using Milling Machines, Saw Machines, Grinders and Lathe Machines
- Calculate dimensions and tolerances using precise measuring tools such as micrometers, Vernier calipers, height gauge, and bore gauges
- Operate various machine tools such a Milling Machine, Grinding Machine and CNC Tools to perform precise machining operations such as milling, side facing, grinding, boring, drilling and tapping
- Perform routine maintenance inspections of equipment to identify and respond to problems in a timely manner, thus preventing breakdowns
- Assemble and disassemble machined parts of the tools and new dies, using various power tools and hand tools
- Use precise measuring instruments such as micrometers, Vernier Calipers for correctness and uniformity according to specifications
- Align, set up and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, and other materials on the machine for various machine operations
- Repair and maintain dies after each production run
- Test and review the new dies, modified tools, jigs, and fixtures for safe and secure operation before production
- Clean tooling as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

**Education and Experience**:

- High School College diploma or GED.
- Specialist college diploma in tool and die, mould maker, mechanical technician of tool room machines or equivalent program.
- Ability to use hand tools and operate tool room machines.
- Must be physically capable of performing work required with excellent hand-eye coordination.
- Willingness to learn on the job, flexible with strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to adapt to changes quickly in a fast-paced environment both within a team or independently.
