Product Operator

CMP Group Ltd., a leading provider of Marine Products, Construction, and Industrial solutions is seeking a Production operator (Rope Splicer & Machine Operator) for the Trenton team/location on a full-time permanent basis; the Trenton location specializes in marine cordage and rope products.

**Purpose of Job**:

- The Production operator (Rope Splicer / Machine Operator) would be responsible for safe practices throughout the facility regarding areas that they are working in.
- This individual will be an integral part of the processing of strand and plaited rope to final product, as well as running machines when splicing is not required.
- Open communication with teams and internal departments to ensure production and inventory levels are accurate and advise of any issues that may impact quality, timing or safety.
- Opens and completes work orders, documents production, and performs quality inspections.

**Responsibilities**:

- Operate machine/ equipment to meet or exceed cycle times per work orders
- Set up and operate machinery for production as required
- Troubleshoot and accurately inspect tooling using applicable tools and measuring devices.
- Splicing of eyes in ropes (3 strand or double braid rope) and splicing of rope to chain (both 3 strand and 8 plait)
- Cut rope and chain as well as install key components into product
- Maintain tools and supplies in good working order
- Maintain work area in a clean state and free from obstructions (6S).
- Report non-conformance of all production
- Cross Training for various tasks within the facility.
- Ensure that product identification, traceability, process control, packaging instructions are being followed at all times.
- Promote safe work practices as outlined in the Ontario’s Occupational Health and Safety Act.
- Strive for Zero-time lost accidents.
- Adhere to all company safety SOP and equipment safety features
- Participate in training as required by company or Operations Manager
- Other duties required by Operations Manager.

**Requirements**:

- 1-3 years of rope splicing experience
- 1-3 years of machine operation experience in the manufacturing industry
- 1-3 years of experience operating a chain cutter or hand/power tools
- 1-3 years of experience operating and setting up of twister, bobbin winder and braider production equipment
- 1-3 years of experience in troubleshooting and tooling inspection using applicable tools and measuring devices
- Comfortable using a cutting tool, standing for a long period of time and operating fast moving parts
- Comfortable receiving training on rope splicing and machine operation
- Comfortable lifting up to 50lbs.
- Willingness to assist by work in other departments within the facility when required
- Good dexterity of the hands to perform various types of splicing
- Good communication, interpersonal and basic maths skills
- Open to quality cross-training and 6s training

**Hours**
- Monday to Friday
- Day shift - 7: 30 AM to 4 PM or 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM

Pay: $20.00-$23.00 per hour
