A&W was Canada's first hamburger quick service restaurant and remains one of its best known. The company began operations in Winnipeg, opening its first freestanding drive-in restaurant in 1956. By 1966, A&W Food Services had opened over 200 drive-in restaurants and was a hit with baby boomers and their families.

Job Purpose: The Team Member is responsible for providing excellent customer service and ensuring the restaurant operates efficiently. This role requires individuals who are able to work in a fast-paced environment, communicate effectively with customers and team members, and maintain a clean and organized workspace.

Key Responsibilities:

- Greet customers and take their orders accurately, using the restaurant's point of sale (POS) system.
- Prepare food items, such as burgers, fries, and drinks, to order and in accordance with restaurant standards.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, including the counter, grill, kitchen and dining area.
- Ensure that all menu items are accurately priced and displayed.
- Assist with stocking supplies and ingredients as needed.
- Handle cash, credit and debit card transactions accurately.
- Respond to customer complaints in a professional and timely manner.
- Follow food safety procedures, including food handling and storage.
- Participate in regular cleaning and maintenance activities, such as mopping floors and washing dishes.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Shift Manager or Store Manager.

**Requirements**:

- High school diploma or equivalent
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- Ability to stand for long periods of time and lift up to 25 pounds
- Basic math and computer skills

**Previous experience in a fast food or similar customer service setting is preferred, but not required.**

Working Conditions:
Shift work, including weekends and holidays

Fast-paced, noisy environment

Possible exposure to hot and cold temperatures
