Academic Resource Support Assistant

**Purpose**:
The Academic Resource Support Assistant is responsible for the academic processes pertaining to contract and full-time faculty members and the Academic Resource Management System (ARMS). The role provides program, front desk reception, and general administrative support to the Department of Electrical Engineering & Computer Science (EECS). The role supports the vision, mission, values and strategic direction of the Lassonde School of Engineering and York University, and contributes to a positive, supportive, and student-focused team environment of high performance, respect, trust, collaboration, and continuous improvement that embraces diversity and fosters inclusion.

**Education**:
High School diploma plus additional post-secondary course in Office Administration or equivalent (e.g., one year of related University courses).

**Experience**:
Two (2) years of demonstrated experience with complex administrative processes is required. Experience must include front line reception and supporting academic processes. Work experience in an academic environment is an asset. Experience with the Academic Resource Management and CUPE hiring is an asset.

**Skills**:
Notes and minute taking skills.
Proven customer service skills/reception skills in a high-volume environment.
Demonstrated ability to deal with people in difficult or challenging situations.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills to relay information accurately and an ability to exercise tact and diplomacy when dealing with others.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle confidential information.
Ability to work independently and as a team member.
Proven organizational skills including setting priorities and working under pressure of high volume and constant interruptions.
Advanced Word and Excel and intermediate Access skills.
Accuracy and attention to detail is essential.
