We currently have an opportunity for a** Manager, Consumer Lending** to join our Consumer Lending Team in our Linden Ridge location ( 2100 McGillivray Blvd). As a Manager, Consumer Lending, you will be responsible for implementing operational plans, delivering business results, leading a team, and ensuring compliance related to consumer lending.

**Specific Responsibilities**:

- Provide day to day leadership to the Consumer Lending team (including staffing decisions, monthly coaching, and performance management).
- Foster a strong team environment that will attract, retain and develop existing and potential staff; establish and guide various consumer lending task teams to meet and/or surpass departmental goals.
- Develop, maintain, and model a thorough knowledge of credit union policies, procedures and corporate values.
- Partner with others across the organization to maintain clear lines of communication, meet service level agreements (where applicable) and meet individual and organizational goals.
- Establish work plans and schedules to ensure service delivery is provided within prescribed service level requirements; complying with all SCU policies, procedures and best practices.
- Review reporting and metrics to identify issues early and take required action, escalating issues to other levels of leadership or functions as required.
- Actively seek out opportunities to engage the team in finding efficiencies within the Consumer Lending department.
- Stay abreast of trends and issues that may have functional or branch impact; attend industry-related events as a representative of SCU for the purposes of reinforcing and/or establishing new relationships; actively network outside of the credit union system to develop and foster relationships that enhance brand recognition and ultimately, increase consumer lending portfolio.
- Achieve targets by ensuring staff members and the Assistant Manager, Consumer Lending (where applicable) are trained, scheduled, coached, informed and empowered to use needs based selling techniques.

**Qualifications**:

- 4 to 6 years of job related experience and a Bachelor’s Degree or diploma specializing in Business Administration, or an equivalent combination of education and experience would be considered
- Experience or knowledge of credit union/FI operations will be considered an asset
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong business acumen and discretion relative to confidential matters is required
- Proven knowledge of consumer lending practices and policies is required
- An experienced leader with demonstrated experience in a fast-paced work environment
- Ability to effectively plan and communicate change initiatives while managing multiple projects simultaneously
- Experience developing and executing on comprehensive operational plans
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
