At Humber River Hospital we continue to advance the important role we play as we advocate for healthcare initiatives in the diverse community we serve. Humber has been conducting sleep studies for over 10 years and currently use the GE Alice software to collect and report data.

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a
**Polysomnographer **to join our
**Sleep Lab **team. The Sleep Technologist, will provide comprehensive evaluation and treatment of sleep disorders. Some of the responsibilities include sleep apnea testing, diagnostic and therapeutic interventions, comprehensive patient care and direct patient education

**Reports to**: Manager of the Sleep Lab

**Hours of work**: Must be available for 10 and 12 hours shifts, days, nights, weekends.

**Hourly Rate Range**:$32.95 - $44.23

**Responsibilities**:

- Register patients through Meditech
- Collecting patient’s medical history.
- Responsible for explaining the sleep study procedure to patients.
- Responsible for the collection of appropriate data following HRH policies.
- Responsible for patient preparation and monitoring of patients during sleep study.
- Performs technical analysis of sleep studies including maintaining the ability to score studies.
- Ensures all studies are processed for scoring through cross referencing departmental documentation.
- Responsible for the calibration of equipment, BiPAP, CPAP and Sleep System, and networking of lab computers. Carries out Quality Assurance programs.
- Must be able to perform all essential duties of the job.

**Job Requirements**:

- Successful completion of an accredited educational program leading to a certificate or associate degree with an emphasis in sleep technology or successful completion of a sleep technology program associated with a state licensed and/or a nationally accredited educational facility or equivalent experience and documented proficiency for all competencies required of a sleep technician.
- Member of Board of Resisted Polysomnographic Technologist required
- 2 years in center sleep studies experience preferred
- Certification by a nationally recognized certification board and holds either the Registered Sleep Technologist (RST), Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT), or Sleep Disorders Specialist (SDS) credential.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
- Certification and annual maintenance of Basic Cardiac Life Support.
- Effective interpersonal, communication, and documentation skills.
- Excellent problem solving, organizational and priority setting skills.
- Ability to work well both autonomously and as a member of a team.
- Commitment to quality patient care and service, evidence based practice, and a clear understanding of professional standards.
