**PRODUCTION ASSISTANT**

The Production Assistant will be a multi tasking position, with approximately 50% of time spent in the front office, and 50% of the time in the plant running equipment. Operational duties will primarily be focused on operating variable data print software and running variable data printers and copiers. Front office duties will include order entry, scheduling, purchasing and shipping receiving. Some pre-press work may also be required, and some invoicing and credit card processing of COD customers. Follow up with existing prospects and customers may also be required from time to time. GOOD skills with MS Office are essential, as is a take charge attitude.

**RESPONSIBILITIES (are but not limited to)**:

- Setup and running of variable data printers - thermal transfer/direct thermal/ laser copier
- utilizing bartender or label mate software.
- Receive calls from customers and provide responses and solutions to general and specific inquiries.
- Respond to customer, product and order inquiries from customers and if necessary, bring to the attention of the Plant Manager.
- Obtain and or verify pricing/estimates with the Plant Manager prior to confirming with customers or sales representative.
- Enter orders into Label Traxx and maintain and update all activities right through to shipment of the job.
- Review customer purchase orders and cross references with the estimates to ensure pricing and components are correct.
- Plans for and purchases material for on-time delivery to the customer.
- Manage customers concerns and if necessary, escalate to management and/or the sales representative if required.
- Manage inventory and movement of material and finished goods in the system
- Review inactive customers and schedule calls to re-engage relationships.
- Perform any other operations-related work assignments as requested by management or the sales representative.
- Comply with all job specific quality operating procedures necessary for ensuring accuracy in processing and entering orders.
- Comply with all GMP, IFS and HACCP procedures anywhere in the production areas such as but not limited to:

- Wearing hair nets and/or beard guards;
- Not eating/drinking or storing food or beverage ;
- Not wearing shirts with pockets or fibrous clothing; and
- Washing your hands before entering production
- Complies with all health and safety policies and procedures such as but is not limited to:

- Always wearing or using the protective equipment that has been designated
- Following the law and the workplace health and safety policies and procedures
- Reporting any hazard you find in the workplace to your manager
- Not removing or making ineffective any protective device required by regulations or the Company.
- Not using or operating any equipment, machine, devise or thing or work in a manner than may endanger you or any other worker.
- Not using any equipment machine you have not been trained to use or operate.
- Back-up duties for this position is performed by the Production Supervisor or a member of the RFID department.
