Floral Express is currently seeking a motivated and results-driven **Driver** for a **part-time position**, working 3-4 days / 15 to 25 hours per week, with the potential for additional hours during peak periods.

**The position**:
A Floral Express driver supports our Mission to exceed our customer expectations in every possible way by driving a truck and transporting our floral goods and materials by truck, travelling between retail locations, distribution centers, manufacturing plants, and growers. Their responsibilities include delivering to and picking up from customers across Ontario and the USA. Drivers operate around the clock, providing essential services for Floral Express logistics operations.

**What you will do**:

- Transport floral materials, supplies, and finished orders to retail and wholesale customers.
- Pick up fresh-cut flowers from local growers and imported products.
- Complete routes in a timely manner.
- Perform daily inspections of vehicles for mechanical issues and safety concerns.
- Conduct preventative maintenance on the fleet.
- Coordinate delivery schedules with the Logistics Manager.
- Document and log work/rest periods and KMs driven. Report fuel usage to the logistics manager.
- Adhere to the Highway and Traffic Act & associated regulations and the DOT regulations (size, weight, route, parking, and break periods) as well as Company policies.
- Operate trucks and maneuver into loading or unloading positions.
- Promptly report defects, accidents, or violations to the Logistics Manager and/or Director of Operations.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

**What you bring to the position**:
Required Qualifications and Experience:

- High School diploma or equivalent
- 1 + years of driving experience
- Valid G license, preference given to those with a D license.
- Clean Driver’s Abstract.
- No recent moving or driving violations.
- Current passport for routes into the USA.
- Participate in random but at least annual drug and alcohol testing in accordance with the USA DOT regulations.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

- Proven work experience as a truck driver.
- Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather conditions, load add-ons).
- Ability to drive long hours and travel weekly.
- Extensive knowledge of the applicable truck driving rules and regulations.
- Ability to drive straight truck to semi-sized vehicles, including refrigerated units.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
