We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced **Bookkeeper** to join our team and help manage our financial records with precision and integrity.

**What you will be doing**:

- Maintain and prepare accurate (multiple) financial records, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries, government remittances/filings and payroll transactions.
- Reconcile bank statements and ensure all financial transactions are recorded accurately.
- Prepare and process payroll, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
- Generate financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting to support financial planning and decision-making.
- Manage invoicing and collections, ensuring timely payments from clients.
- Collaborate and assist with the management team to provide financial insights and recommendations.
- Ensure compliance with local, provincial, and federal regulations, including tax filings and remittances.
- Assist with year-end audits and liaise with external auditors as needed.
- Perform the month-end process.
- Preparation of HST/GST returns and T4’s.
- Track and complete weekly tasks including refunds, return cheques (NSFs), and cheque deposit errors.
- Manage and reconcile operations billing disputes with the third parties.
- Complete monthly credit card reconciliations.
- Complete monthly banking reconciliation for managers to complete bookkeeping.
- Perform monthly audits as requested.
- Serve as a backup for management for QB entries. HST and WSIB calculations and filing, as well as a payroll.

**What you bring**:

- Three plus years proven experience as a bookkeeper, preference given to those with hospitality, food & beverage, or event venue experience.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
- Expert Knowledge in QuickBooks Desktop and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of local, provincial, and federal tax regulations.
- Certification in bookkeeping or accounting is an asset.

**Work Hours**:

- Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM
- 5 days in-office
- Occasional evenings and weekends may be required during peak event seasons.
