**Daycare Program Manager - Early Years**

Job Overview:
The Daycare Program Manager has operational responsibility for licensed early years childcare programs and demonstrates a deep commitment to the highest standard of Early Years professional practice and the BC Early Learning Framework (ELF). Reporting to the Program Director, the Daycare Program Manager oversees multiple centres, each serving 37 to 69 families and children, along with up to six supervisors and up to 30 educators.

**Responsibilities**:

- Oversees the daily operations of licensed childcare programs, ensuring compliance with the BC Child Care Licensing Regulations and Health and Safety standards
- Collaborates with leadership and staff to ensure safe, high-quality programming that aligns with the BC Early Learning Framework (ELF)
- Devotes time in programs to support curriculum, facilitate family engagement and encourage educator professional development
- Human resources management, including recruitment, orientation, training, performance management, supervision and staff scheduling. Supports and encourages professional development, training and staff initiatives
- Ensures adherence to VSOCC policies and procedures, escalating areas of concern
- Ensures high quality indoor and outdoor environments that meet health and safety standards in accordance with licensing regulations and VSOCC policies. Identifies and reports repairs and improvements
- Collaborates with the Program Director to develop and monitor operational budgets, program finances, records and reports, and procurement of supplies and equipment.
- Maintains open, respectful and confidential communication with families, addresses concerns, advocates for children and families, provides resources, and supports family participation and program event coordination
- Fosters positive relationships and collaboration with community agencies, promoting VSOCC programs and connecting participants and staff to additional resources. Serves as a management team member by overseeing program administration, supporting policy development, coordinating agency initiatives and events, assisting with collective agreement matters, contributing to strategic planning, and fulfilling additional duties as assigned

Education and Experience:

- Basic ECE & Infant/Toddler license to practice in BC
- Basic Workplace First Aid certificate and Food Safe Level 1 certificates
- Minimum of 3 years supervisory experience managing multiple childcare programs and teams
- Experience with program development, program planning, assessment and evaluation
- Experience working with children with additional needs and collaborating with external support services
- Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills including the ability to present and facilitate meetings
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Demonstrated ability to maintain positive staff relations, coach staff, and manage and develop high performance teams
- Demonstrated ability to positively engage with families, addressing concerns and providing support resources
- Ability to work flexible hours, manage independently and address multiple concurrent projects and deadlines
- Strong knowledge and background of child development, licensed childcare and family support programs
- Knowledge, understanding and experience with the BC Early Learning Framework, including its approach to Early Childhood Education
- Fluency in computer skills including Microsoft Outlook, Word, MS Teams
- Ability to travel efficiently between VSOCC locations

**Terms of Employment**:

- $78,000 per annum including a comprehensive benefit program. In addition, you may be eligible for a $6 per hour Provincial ECE Wage Enhancement
