Position Summary -Reporting to the Facilities Manager, the Maintenance Worker contributes to the success of the organization’s goals through the delivery of efficient, friendly, and high-quality service as a valued member of the Maintenance department and in cooperation with the entire staff team at BDSHA. Maintenance workers are responsible for the operational integrity of all BDSHA managed properties. This includes performing a variety of maintenance tasks to improve the safety, efficiency, and aesthetic value of the property, while also supporting the wellbeing and comfort of the residents.

**Qualifications**:

- High School diploma or a general education degree is highly preferred.
- 2 -5 years proven experience in building maintenance or related trades.
- A 5th Class Power Engineer Certificate is an asset.
- Valid First Aid certification required.
- Demonstrates a sincere desire to work with and assist seniors.
- Must maintain confidentiality of all association matters.
- Clean Criminal Record Check
- Strong commitment to safety and efficiency in all tasks.
- Excellent interpersonal skills; must be courteous and respectful to all coworkers, residents, and visitors.
- Ability to work as part of a team to deliver high-quality service.
- Effective communication and administrative skills.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions
- Problem-solving skills
- Excellent customer service skills

**Responsibilities**
- Perform routine maintenance and emergency repairs of buildings and facilities.
- Carry out carpentry, painting, plumbing, minor electrical, and appliance repair tasks.
- Maintain the grounds, including snow and ice removal, mowing, trimming, and pruning of landscaping.
- Driving company vehicle to pick up supplies and to facilities in town as well as other towns where facilities are managed.
- Engage in preventive maintenance tasks to avoid potential future problems.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment in all maintenance spaces.
- Keep detailed logs of daily activities, noting time spent and duties performed at each unit.
- Participate in all training provided relevant to the position to stay updated on best practices.
- Perform on-call duties as required and assigned by the Facilities Manager or CAO.
- Additional related duties as assigned by the Facilities Manager or CAO.
