**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Spread, level, and smooth concrete by using rakes, shovels, and trowels.
- Able to wheelbarrow concrete.
- Behaves in a manner that ensures the safety of themselves, their co-workers, and others on the work sites.
- Reports incidents, injuries, and near misses and participates in the investigative process.
- Assists other employees when required.
- Attends and participates in toolbox and safety committee meetings as scheduled.
- Adheres to company policies, procedures, and directions regarding standards of workplace behaviour in completing job duties and assignments.
- Complies with the standards and procedures of North Star’s health and safety manual and Occupational Health and Safety regulations.

**SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES**
- Work sites that change as a function of work availability.
- Occasional lifting up to 75 lbs., routine lifting up to 50 lbs. Continuous bending, kneeling, crouching, and reaching while finishing concrete.
- Ability to work different shifts, up to12 hour shifts, and overtime as required by the work.
- Simultaneous mental and muscular coordination, visual and audio awareness of the surrounding area
- Construction Safety Training System (CSTS) Certification.
- Ground Disturbance.
- Valid First Aid.
- Flagger Training.
- WHMIS Certification.
- Self-motivating and able to complete tasks with mínimal supervision.
- Strong work ethic with demonstrated dedication and reliability.
- Must be able to work as a member of a greater team.

**SPECIAL CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT**
- Must have own transportation.
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license.
- Must be able to work long hours and weekends.
- Must have CSA approved safety boots.

Pay: From $28.00 per hour
