**Position Title: Supply Chain Leader**

**Role Purpose**: The Supply Chain Leader is responsible for sourcing and purchasing products or services to ensure that operational needs are met, taking price, quality and delivery into account. They will develop supply sources by interviewing potential suppliers, visiting current vendors to improve relations and assessing supply facilities and negotiating price. They will also be responsible for overseeing and maintaining inventory levels to ensure operational needs are met.

**Reports To**: General Manager

**Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Analyze purchase requisitions and review for accuracy and completion
- Place orders to procure requisitioned items
- Monitor progress of delivery schedules
- Solve problems with orders in an efficient and timely manner
- Determine the correct method to process purchase requisitions depending on total cost, timeliness, competitive bidding, and existing contracts
- Identify and select vendors and suppliers using criteria such as quantity and quality of commodities, price, and delivery date
- Manage relationships with key suppliers to maintain quality of goods, timely delivery, and compliance to terms of contracts
- Assess supplier profiles and analyze offers
- Collaborate with departments to clarify purchase requisitions
- Refine and continuously improve specifications for future purchase orders
- Make purchasing decisions in accordance with company procedures and guidelines
- Follow proper channels to obtain purchase authorization
- Constantly review long lead time materials and place orders where needed
- Work closely with our Incoming Inspectors to review supplies and ensure quality
- Monitor stock levels
- Perform Min/Max reviews as part of opportunity management process
- Inputting, updating, and maintaining information in company’s ERP system
- Continuously explore and provide solutions to improve company spending and outsourcing
- Drive and participate in the annual year-end inventory count activity
- Investigate and cultivate new sources for supplies and products
- Issue bid requests to several potential vendors and suppliers
- Review quotes and secure the most competitive bids
- Secure product technical descriptions and request product samples to support new design activities
- Explain and clarify purchasing procedures to internal departments as well as vendors.
- Prepare and implement effective negotiation tactics

**Qualifications & Experience**:

- Degree or diploma in business, with a focus on supply chain & operations, procurement, or materials management
- 3-5 years of direct work experience in a buyer/senior buyer position
- Familiarity with enterprise resource planning (ERP) software, and/or material requirements planning (MRP) software
- Demonstrated understanding of integrated supply chain and logistics concepts and theories
- Advanced procurement and supplier negotiation abilities
