Seed Production Technician

**Seed Production Technician (18mo Contract)**

**Primary Responsibilities**:

- Work with the research team to plant, maintain and harvest soybean research plots in a soybean breeding program.
- Operate a wide range of equipment such as tractors, planters, research combines, forklifts, and sprayers.
- Assist with activities related to Certified Seed Production/Management/Certification, Variety Purification and Registration.
- Assist with seed preparation including cleaning, packaging, bagging, etc.
- Harvest and thresh individual plants using a threshing machine.
- Conduct field maintenance throughout the growing season.
- Assist with data collection.

**Minimum Qualifications**:

- Highly motivated with the ability to work well independently and in a team environment
- Ability to lift and carry a minimum of 25kg
- Licensed G driver
- Have sound judgment and critical thinking skills
- Organized and detail-oriented
- Mechanical and agricultural experience would be an asset, but not essential. Willing to train.

Start Date: As soon as possible (flexible, earlier start is ideal)

Schedule: 40 hours/week, plus overtime during planting and harvest periods

**Salary**: $17.00-$22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week

Schedule:

- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed

Supplemental pay types:
