**Join our Team as a Temporary Journeyperson Plumber**
As a Plumber, you will work under the supervision of the Facilities Manager in the
Maintenance department. You will be responsible for performing plumbing-related
work, including new construction and maintenance of new equipment systems and
fixtures. This includes installing, maintaining, repairing, and renovating gas, air, water,
and waste disposal systems, along with interior and exterior water mains and drainage
systems throughout the Campus.
Our Plumbers are innovative and solution-based and possess exceptional time
management and organizational skills. This role requires you to work collaboratively in a
team environment and perform work in varying weather conditions, including working
outdoors. You must be available to respond to emergency calls outside of regular
business hours.
**Your Opportunity**
This is a **temporary full-time position** within our Maintenance team.
**This is a fixed-term contract with a minimum guarantee of 12 months' full-time**
**employment.**
A regular day shift, weekends or a varied schedule may be required. You may also
require evening and weekend availability and on occasion additional hours dependent
on operational needs. You must be available to respond to trouble calls and
emergencies during both regular work hours and after working hours safely.
**Education, Certificates and Licenses**
- Successful completion or near completion of a recognized Journeyman license or certificate in the plumbing trade
- Those with a valid BC Gas Fitter ‘C’ license, a valid wastewater treatment level one certificate, and/or a backflow preventer testing certificate are preferred
- Must have a minimum of four (4) years related experience
- Valid BC Class 5 Drivers License

- Successful clearance of a Criminal Record Check is a condition of employment
- Compensation is based on certification
- Must be immediately legally entitled to work in Canada
- A high level of physical conditioning, agility and strength is required to perform
- all requirements of the position daily, including lifting up to 50 pounds, bending,
- twisting, reaching, grasping, etc.
