**THE ROLE**

With an array of exciting projects coming up, ETRO is seeking a seasoned Superintendent with experience in delivering large scale ground-up commercial or institutional builds. As the Superintendent, you’ll lead with integrity and safety while being a steward for quality and timely delivery, representing ETRO and our commitment to excellence every single day on site.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**

Here’s what you’ll get up to as the Superintendent:
**Pre-Construction**
- Actively participate in the pre-construction phase including planning, schedule development, site logistics, subcontractor buyout meetings, and development and Project Lean Plan.

**General**
- Establish relationships with and supervise all workers onsite; foster a working environment built on trust, excellence in craft and quality experiences for all.
- Prepare daily logs and create contingency plans as required.
- Lead Daily Coffee Huddles with the Site Leads to discuss work plan for the day.
- Lead Weekly Subcontractor Meetings to adjust and develop Weekly Work Plan.
- Provide training, development and mentorship to direct reports; inspire culture of continuous improvement in both professional craft and personal leadership.
- A strong representative of ETRO and ETRO’s culture on site.
- Responsible for inventory and maintenance of all owned/rental tools and equipment on site.
- Engaged and aware of all happenings on site on a daily basis. Active on-site presence at all times and walks the job site multiple times per day.

**Safety**
- Develops the Site Logistics Plan and coordinates approval with the Client and City. Coordinate all site setup activities with the Procurement Manager.
- Involved in the development of the Project Specific Safety Policy with the Safety Department including coordination with Worksafe BC, BC Hydro, Translink.
- Involved in the development of Fire Safety Plans with the Safety Department.
- Acts as the primary safety representative on site and enforces the Project Specific Safety Policy with all workers.
- Ensures all corrective actions are addressed within 48 hours of being raised, or sooner based on severity.

**Schedule**
- Develop, update and maintain the project schedule including overall project schedule and 4-week rolling Weekly Work Plan.
- Lead pull planning sessions with Subcontractors.
- Implements and maintains ETRO Milestone Tracker throughout the project.
- Coordinate with Project Manager for Subcontractor adherence to schedule and issuing Notice as required.
- Schedule ETRO resourcing on site with other sites.

**Quality**
- Maintain close coordination with client, consultant and subcontractor teams to ensure work complies with drawings and all specifications.
- Actively monitors quality and workmanship on site.
- Identifies non-compliant and/or unacceptable workmanship; not reliant on others to do so. Notifies Subcontractors and is responsible for ensuring correction.
- Develop a mock-up list, mock-up schedule, and schedule all mock-ups and reviews on site.
- Ensures all deficiencies from consultant field reports are documented and rectified within 14 calendar days or sooner if deficiency is holding up progress on site.
- Inputs lessons learned into database and makes recommendations on how to avoid them in the future.
- Participates in project post mortem meetings - both internal and external.
- Completes project at Occupancy/Substantial Performance with zero deficiencies.

**Procurement**
- Inputs dates when all materials are “Required on Job” in the ROJ Log.
- Responsible for ordering all materials on site including utilizing ETRO’s Centralized Purchasing Program.
- Ordering and arranging delivery of all tools and equipment through Commerce Court Equipment Co.

**Drawings & As-builts**
- Involved in reviewing all changes and instructions and ensuring all affected Subcontractors are notified and working with current data on site.
- Establish and maintain as-built drawings on site to assure work is aligned with latest design documentation
