Organization - 1-10 employees - Animal Welfare and Social Services/Enterprise in Calgary

**About Parachutes for Pets**

Parachutes for Pets honors the human animal bond and assists the most vulnerable with essential pet care. Here, we understand the direct line between pet guardianship and mental health. Our new, first-of-its-kind Pet Advocacy Center will have an expanded pet food bank, education classes, dignity pet store, a pet friendly warming and cooling station, and multiple offices for partnering agencies to meet with clients.

**About the position**

**Responsibilities**

Social Media: Content Creation and Posting across our social media channels, answering social media comments and messages, overseeing volunteers that may assist with this after hours. PFP has its main account, its thrift store account, and a Landing Pad account

Communications Plan: Creating and executing a comprehensive communications plan for PFP, creating and executing media releases as well as liaising with ambassadors of PFP.

Collaboration and Advocacy: Collaborate with our partnering agencies, veterinary clinics, and other relevant stakeholders to promote collaboration and partnerships across our social media channels.

Graphic Design: Create graphics in house for events, social media, websites

Website Upkeep: Update and monitor the PFP website

**Qualifications**

Degree in Communications/Marketing from an accredited institution.

Minimum of 2 years experience in communications and marketing

Strong understanding of animal welfare issues, pet behavior, and the human-animal bond.

Excellent interpersonal, communication, and active listening skills.

Empathy, patience, and the ability to connect with both animals and humans.

Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.

Strong organizational and time management skills.

Passion for animal advocacy and a commitment to promoting animal welfare.
