**About KORAA**
KORAA is a community-based organization dedicated to creating accessible, empowering, and joyful spaces for women — especially underrepresented women — to engage in sport and movement. From leagues to one-off classes to group trips and workshops, everything we do centers community, fun, and safety.

As we continue to grow our popular swim program, we’re looking for a passionate and qualified **Swim Instructor** to join our team and lead our weekly **Monday night swim classes**

**Position Details**:

- **Position**: Swim Instructor
- **Location**: The University of Waterloo
- **Schedule**: Mondays, for 8 weeks starting June 23rd
- **Time**: 8:00 PM - 9:00 PM (1 hour total, including prep time)
- **Start Date**: June 9th
- **Pay**: $20-$25

**About the Swim Program**:
Our Monday swim classes are for women only and include beginner, intermediate, and advanced levels. Classes are taught simultaneously in different lanes, and we’re looking for instructors who feel confident tailoring guidance to students across a range of abilities.

Our space is private, inclusive, and supportive — making it a safe and comfortable environment for both instructors and students.

**Responsibilities**:

- Instruct swim lessons to women of all levels (beginner to advanced)
- Provide in-water and/or on-deck support and demonstrations
- Monitor safety and adapt instruction as needed
- Offer encouragement and constructive feedback to help students build skill and confidence
- Communicate effectively with KORAA staff and participants
- Arrive on time, set up class, and ensure smooth transitions between groups

**You’re a Great Fit If You**:

- Have experience teaching swim lessons to a wide range of skill levels
- Are certified in Standard First Aid & CPR-C (NLS preferred but not required)
- Have a calm, clear, and supportive communication style
- Are passionate about empowering women through movement
- Are organized, dependable, and enthusiastic about working with a growing community
- Understand or are open to working in a culturally sensitive, women-only environment

**Bonus if you**:

- Have experience working in community-based or non-profit environments

**Job Types**: Part-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 2 months

Pay: From $20.00 per hour

Flexible language requirement:

- French not required

Schedule:

- Evening shift

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Waterloo, ON N2L 3G1: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
