**Your day to day activities will include**:
- Purchase goods, materials, components, or services in line with specified cost, quality, and delivery targets
- Support the purchasing function and other relevant departments, and communicate supply issues that may impact operations
- Act as an interface between suppliers and other relevant departments on purchasing processes, new projects and activities including new packaging concepts and designs
- Negotiate contracts, and improve prices and terms of business with suppliers
- Provide analysis on new and existing costs, and review opportunities for cost reduction and continuous improvement utilizing negotiation and procurement best practice tools and methods
- Prepare and raise purchase orders and order schedules
- Build, maintain and manage supplier relationships
- Monitor market trends, competitor strategies and market suppliers; monitor and advise on issues which present risk or opportunity to the organization
- Prepare reports and updates, as required
- Ensure compliance to company guidelines, purchasing policies and procedures during supplier negotiations and contract award processes
- Conduct research for new materials and suppliers
- Assess and evaluate suppliers and contribute to performance reviews to ensure contract compliance
- Contact suppliers to resolve price, quality, delivery, or invoice issues
- Post-Secondary education in business or supply chain management or equivalent work experience
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience within a supply chain role
- Able to build and maintain effective and productive relationships with staff, stakeholders and suppliers
- Good communication, negotiation, interpersonal and influencing skills
- Analytical, numerically astute with strong problem-solving abilities
- Able to manage time effectively, prioritize tasks and achieve set targets
