**Job Title**: Part-Time Domestic Violence Navigator (.5 FTE)

**Employment Type**: Part-Time (20 hours/week) with potential for additional hours based on community needs and program growth

**Position Summary**:
The Part-Time Domestic Violence Navigator plays a key supportive role within PCCS, assisting individuals experiencing domestic violence, intimate partner violence, and gender-based violence. This position offers trauma-informed, culturally sensitive navigation support with a focus on both general system advocacy and basic legal information, referrals, and emotional support. The Navigator will also support PCCS programming and outreach, with the opportunity to expand hours based on service demand or funding.

**Key Responsibilities**:
**Client Support & Navigation**:

- Provide compassionate, trauma-informed support to individuals experiencing domestic violence.
- Help clients understand and access legal systems (e.g., Emergency Protection Orders, family court, Legal Aid).
- Offer referrals to shelters, mental health services, legal services, and other community supports.
- Assist with safety planning and individualized goal setting.
- Maintain confidentiality and ensure a survivor-centered approach.

**Community Outreach, Education & Red Flag Awareness**:

- Increase public awareness and understanding of Red Flag (Firearms Restriction) Laws and their role in preventing harm.
- Educate clients and community members in how Red Flag Laws may be used to reduce risks in situations involving domestic or intimate partner violence.
- Represent PCCS at community events, resource fairs, or presentations when applicable.
- Distribute public education materials and increase awareness of domestic violence and available supports.
- Assist in organizing outreach activities in rural or underserved areas.

**Collaboration & Partnership**:

- Work with community partners to streamline access to services for clients.
- Support the integration of navigator services into broader PCCS programming.

**Documentation & Reporting**:

- Maintain accurate case files and tracking logs.
- Provide brief monthly updates on caseload trends, needs, and successes.

**Qualifications**:

- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Human Services, Psychology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Experience working with individuals affected by domestic violence or in crisis.
- Understanding of trauma-informed and culturally responsive practices.
- Familiarity with community resources and legal systems in Alberta is an asset.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Able to work independently, with strong time management and organizational abilities.

**Additional Details**:

- Position is based on 20 hours/week, flexible scheduling may be available.

- Access to a reliable vehicle and willingness to travel locally may be required.

**Job Type**: Part-time

Pay: $22.00-$30.00 per hour
