**Salary: starting at 36,64$ per hour**

**General Description**:
As a Powerhouse Operator, you will be responsible for supporting the manufacturing process by trouble shooting, preventative maintenance, and repair of all tire-related manufacturing, processing machinery and equipment. You will also be responsible for safety and housekeeping throughout the facility.

**Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to**:

- Operate and maintain boilers, boiler controls, boiler drying and air filtration equipment and moisture separators and their drain systems
- Lubricate compressed air systems
- Correct PH in the water entering tubers and perform laboratory water tests and other water chemistry tests as necessary
- In accordance with EPA, OSHA and other environmental and safety regulations, safely and efficiently operate:

- Powerhouse equipment such as heat transfer and combustion systems
- Steam and condensate return systems
- Piping systems and pressure vessels
- Enter test results and equipment operational data into spreadsheets and data collection systems and analyze the data for trends and report out as needed
- Operate Allen Bradley DCS and other computerized systems
- Inspect and repair equipment and piping, including that above the powerhouse roof as scheduled or as required to maintain reliability and safe operations
- Operate and maintain:

- Natural gas, fuel oil heating systems, pumps and pumping systems
- Water treatment systems including salt brine, water softeners, de-aerating heater, flash tanks, hot well filters, condensate return, chemical injection pumps, etc.
- Electric power breakers and switch gears, meter systems, ventilation systems, heat recovery systems, and heat exchange equipment
- Open and close large valves, handle heavy weight in excess of 80 pounds, and operate boiler soot blowers
- Report equipment irregularities and concerns to supervisors and communicate operating information among other operators
- Contain, clean up and dispose of spills including acid and chemical spills, as well as handling steam and air leaks in accordance with environmental and safety regulations
- Log or use computerized work order system for repair and maintenance activities performed
- Abide by safe work standards including Lock-Out/Tag-Out (LOTO), Fall Protection, Confined Spaces, appropriate use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- Adhere to Goodyear's attendance policy
- Perform a variety of manual tasks in varying temperatures for extended periods of time, which may include lifting light to heavy materials, climbing, standing, squatting, bending, and working at heights when applicable

**Basic Qualifications**:

- HS Diploma/GED
- Previous experience with operations of boilers and boiler controls
- Provincial certification for boiler operator
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must be legally authorized to work in Canada without company sponsorship now or in the future
- Required to lift heavy materials, climb, stand, squat, bend and work at heights with or without reasonable accommodations
- Must be able to successfully complete all post-offer, pre-employment contingencies
- Ability to work 12 hours and/or rotating shifts, weekends, holidays, or overtime if applicable
- Basic computer skills
- Fluent in French

**Preferred Qualifications**:

- Previous experience as an Industrial Powerhouse Operator with the basic knowledge and understanding of machine technology, construction, operation of heavy industrial machinery and power/control devices
- Certificate of qualification issued by Emploi Quebec (Class 2 Powerhouse Operator)
- 1st, 2nd, 3rd or 4th class Power Engineer certification through Alberta Boilers Safety Association
- Experience adhering to industry-specific safety standards
- Ability to understand, speak and read English
- Self-motivated: demonstrates appropriate initiative with or without direct supervision
