Pragmatic Drilling Fluids Additives Ltd, a Newpark Company (Newpark Canada/Newpark Resources Inc)

Pragmatic specializes in developing customized product solutions for the oil & gas industry including Drilling Fluids, Cementing, Stimulation, Fracturing and Production Chemicals. Our R&D lab is equipped with state-of-the-art equipment and is one of the best equipped labs in the Canadian oil & gas industry. Pragmatic's office and lab are located in the Edmonton Research Park. We work in a fast-paced dynamic environment and are looking for a chemist looking for a challenge to join our team.

**Essential Responsibilities**:

- Work closely with sales to troubleshoot problems.
- Accountable for resource requirements, establishment, and delivery of project schedule.
- Liaise with chemical companies to source new raw materials.
- Optimize formulations, perform raw materials QA/QC and final product stability tests.
- Operate and provide general maintenance of lab testing equipment.
- Record, maintain accurate records on experimental results and prepare clear written reports and oral presentations to senior chemist.
- Follow and support Newpark’s policies, procedures and guidelines including those relating to Health, Safety and Environment and those identified in the Corporate Manual.

**Qualifications and requirements**:

- Minimum of a B.Sc. Degree in Chemistry.
- Very self-motivated, and a good self-starter.
- Must be legally able to work in Canada.
- Strong team player.
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks and effectively produce high quality results.
- Handles special projects, as assigned.
- Ability to work well independently and as part of a team.
