Pedestrian and Cycle Safety Presenter

In partnership with the City of Ottawa and OSTA, the Ottawa Safety Council educates over 25,000 elementary age students annually with our hands-on, school-based road safety workshops We are ready to bring these programs back after 2 years of COVID.

The Ottawa Safety Council is seeking children’s Road Safety Program Presenters Road Safety Presenters will deliver our WalkSafe, CycleSafe and Bestfit Booster workshops to elementary aged youth within Ottawa and Ottawa’s elementary schools. Presenters will largely be responsible for:

- Presenting 30-60 minute workshops to elementary age students JK-Grade 6. The majority of these presentations will be in-school (presenters will set up in a school and present to 5-8 classes over the course of a day) and take place during the school year.
- There may be some community based workshops on weekends/weekdays and throughout the summer (flexible)
- Presenter are responsible for storing, transporting to and from the schools/workshops (personal vehicle required) and set up of the presenter “kits” and program materials (i.e., roll out crosswalk, traffic lights, demo bike, program supply bins, print material).
- Presenters generally cover one area of the City (i.e., West end) but this is flexible.
- Presenters will be responsible for corresponding with the Road Safety Program Coordinator regarding scheduling to ensure all school and community group requests are fulfilled.

The Ottawa Safety Council presents to both English and French school boards within Ottawa. English is essential, French is considered an asset.

Personal vehicle and daily access to computer/internet required. Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs.
