**REPORTS TO**: Supervisor of Enforcement and Regulatory Services
**LOCATION**: Initial placement - Burford Office
**_ Minimum_**_ _**_Qualifications:_**:
- Post-secondary education in law enforcement or related field with particular emphasis on conflict resolution, mediation, adjudication, de-escalation and professional communication
- 2 years of relevant law enforcement or closely related experience, preferably within a municipality, or previous experience providing services in a court system, legal environment or parking enforcement setting involving direct contact with the public
- Working knowledge of Automated Speed Enforcement Regulations, Administrative Penalties (AP) policies and procedures. Excellent customer service and conflict resolution skills
- Ability to interact with the public positively while exercising sound judgment and discretion while complying with all applicable privacy legislation.
- Ability to organize work and resources in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- General knowledge of the Highway Traffic Act, Municipal Act, Municipal Freedom of Information and Privacy Protection Act, municipal by-laws, Provincial Offences Act, and demonstrated safe work practices and working knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act
- Valid class G driver’s license with acceptable driver’s abstract and satisfactory police records check
**_ Assets_**:
- Experience in interpreting and enforcing bylaws and provincial regulations
**_ Duties_**:
- Reviews Penalty Orders in the first step of the appeals process.
- Receives requests for Penalty Order screenings, schedules and conducts screening reviews and renders decisions based on applicable regulations and County policies
- Prepares evidence packages for screening reviews and distribution for hearing officers
- Reviews written submission from defendants, conducts screening reviews and provides written notice of a decision to the defendant
- Organize, review and interpret records and evidence related to automated enforcement.
- Updates databases to maintain accurate records of AP screenings.
- Liaise with partner agencies such as the Ministry of Transportation (MTO), Ministry of the Attorney General (MAG) and the Ontario Traffic Council.
- Review and provide input into Standard Operating Procedures and other ASE-related policies as necessary.
- Respond to inquiries and provide clarification of by-law regulations, and processes related to automated enforcement
- Receives and tracks payments related to Automated Enforcement
- Maintain accurate records with a high level of attention to detail
- Generate reports to meet necessary legislative reporting requirements
- Due to operational requirements, the incumbent must be available to work afternoons and weekends
- Other duties as assigned
**Annual**Salary**Range**:$66,721 - $78,078**(Job Grade 5) based on 35 hours per week - Under Review
