Breakfast Cook

Reporting to the Manager of Food Services, the Breakfast Cook provides support to the preparation, serving and clean up associated with all meal services in the Residence/Home.

Position Summary: Internal Posting - Part Time Temporary: Every Friday and one weekend (schedule may change as per facility need)

Timing: 5:30 am to 1:00pm (some days extra hours require as per facility need).
- Must have experience in large quantity food preparation, preferably in a health care
- Must demonstrate proper food preparation and presentation for a variety of cultural preferences
- Must be knowledge of special, therapeutic and texture modified diets
- To serve meals to residents and guests in a professional and courteous manner
- To prepare various items such as beverages, salads, desserts, sandwiches, breakfast items, soup and other lunch items etc.
- To set and clear dining tables and deliver tray service as required
- To assist with cleaning of dishware, cutlery at the conclusion of each seating as required
- To assist with maintaining the cleanliness of kitchen and dining area as required
- To assist with catering, and actively participate in special occasions and theme events
- To assist in the orientation and training of new dietary employees
- Must be multi-tasking - Able to cover Breakfast & Lunch meal serving during short staff
- To complete all other tasks as assigned by Nutrition manager

**Qualifications**:

- Must possess a Food Handler's Certificate.
- Must possess a Food Service Worker Certificate or be enrolled in the Cook's certification program

Must be physically able to lift and transfer heavy, hot items and stand/walk for majority of shift

**Salary**: From $20.69 per hour
